“Chinatown Comes Out”: OUT Museum Opening Ceremony and Arts Programme, Part 4

The San Francisco Asian Queer Film Festival (SFAQFF) is a cultural event dedicated to the voices of Asian American, Pacific Islander and LGBTQ+ communities. Its first edition brings a retrospective of classic feature films, a shorts program and a filmmakers’ forum.
Under the theme “Rainbow Chinatown,” the inaugural festival connects traditional and contemporary queer identities and reimagines Chinatown’s queer story: Chinatown is not just a tourist destination, but a vibrant, diverse community where people feel they belong.
Opening night: May 31, 2026, 7–10 pm, with the opening film Saving Face and director Alice Wu in attendance. Curator: Leslie Xiong.
