Volunteer with Us

Would you like to volunteer with the LGBTQ community?

Walk alongside fellow travelers and create new voices together

We warmly invite you to join our volunteer team! Join us and let’s create new voices together.

💡 What We’re Looking For

We hope you live in the San Francisco Bay Area and are passionate, proactive and eager to contribute to a community space.

We hope you are part of the LGBTQ+ community, or someone ready to support LGBTQ+ people through action.

Because of the particular nature of our current working environment, we will give priority to volunteers who can communicate in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), and will gradually open up to more languages in the future.

Format: mainly online collaboration, with in-person participation for some projects.

Time commitment: 3–5 hours a week, for an expected 8–12 weeks (flexible by project).

What You’ll Gain

  • A volunteer service certificate and public credit

  • Hands-on project experience and professional training workshops

  • The rewarding experience of working alongside people who care about the community

  • An exclusive thank-you gift for volunteers

How to join: read the role descriptions below, then send a short introduction, your strengths or the support you can offer, and any relevant or similar work or experience to apply@outmuseum.org (subject line: “Application + role name”).

We deeply respect everyone’s experience and expertise, but you don’t need to share your full academic history with us.
