Collaborating with United Proud Women, OUT Museum is co-hosting an experimental salon and cocktail gathering, cultivating new conditions of thought for those lived experiences as women or womanhood— unsettling inherited boundaries while imagining and constructing queer worlds of our own making. Together, we will dwell within histories so often relegated to the periphery: queer histories, women’s histories, and the submerged genealogies effaced by dominant regimes of memory.

The grandmothers who struggled to keep entire families alive amidst revolution and social rupture; the women combatants who wagered their lives in fidelity to justice; the activists, theorists, and poets who refused incorporation into the logics of capital and state power — these are the lives, affects, and archival traces illuminated tonight.

Let us gather to speak of them together: to revisit queer and feminist histories as unfinished constellations of possibility. Through collective remembrance, historical excavation, and political imagination, we hope to reclaim the capacity to narrate histories of our own — and, in turn, to rewrite the futures still yet to emerge.
