The voices of the LGBTQ community have long been marginalized. Those situated within the social mainstream may express understanding and support, yet often lack opportunities to truly engage with and comprehend the lived experiences of LGBTQ individuals and communities.

The Ongoing brings together a range of works that trace the historical trajectory of LGBTQ communities in China from ancient times to the present, extending into contemporary social movements. From the awakening of individual gender identity to an interactive component in which visitors create zines based on their own stories, the exhibition offers an immersive experience that invites each participant to come closer to the LGBTQ community and encounter the diversity and authenticity of its lived realities.
